The need to have a cup of coffee right now is crushing, but mostly psychologically so. My morning cup is how I signal to myself that the day is starting, and even more, catching up with Facebook and Perez Hilton is just not the same without a little warm kick in the brain.
I talked with a few friends yesterday about this Tweek, and two comments seemed worthy of repeating:
- Cutting out non-water drinks is good for the complexion
- Caffeine exists in solid forms...like chocolate-covered espresso beans.
I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for changes in my skin, but I'm worried about the tendency to substitute food for liquid satisfaction. My natural tendency is to eat A LOT. Coffee has always been a great appetite suppressant for me, and I'm concerned that getting rid of it will cause me to compensate with food - either because I'm hungry or because I'm psychologically stressed by the process. I've already had a toaster scramble, and I'm cautiously eying the Thin Mints in my desk drawer.
Last night, co-Tweeker Laura and I went out with a friend for Tapas, and we marked the occasion with Sangria. Honestly, I'm not sure that either Laura or I really wanted Sangria, but we felt like we should drink it anyway, as a "goodbye for now" kind of thing.
